Social and Emotional Learning
At Mary Farmar, we prioritize Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically and socially. SEL is crucial as it equips students with essential life skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Through the evidence-based Second Step curriculum, tailored for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, our students engage in structured lessons that enhance their emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. This curriculum not only supports academic success but also cultivates empathy, resilience, and positive peer interactions, ensuring our students are prepared for both academic challenges and personal growth in a diverse and interconnected world.
