Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

We integrate Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with Restorative Practices to foster a positive school climate. PBIS is a proactive approach that teaches, reinforces, and discusses expected behaviors—such as being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible—across all settings. Restorative Practices complement PBIS by emphasizing relationship and community-building and conflict resolution skills. This integrated approach ensures that when behavior expectations are upheld, they are done so in a manner that restores and strengthens relationships within our school community. Research supports this dual approach in reducing disciplinary issues and enhancing academic performance, creating a supportive environment where every student can thrive socially and academically.
